Hannah’s Dream Playground

If you live in New Haven and haven’t made it out here yet, you’re missing one of the better family spots in the area. The playground itself is well thought out — slides, swings, a climbing structure, and a sandbox cover pretty much every age from toddler to tween, and the inclusive design means it actually works for kids of all abilities, not just as an afterthought. Shade trees and covered seating make the difference on a hot July afternoon when you’re not ready to leave but the sun is brutal. Toss in a walking path, a bike track, and an open grass field, and you’ve got enough to fill a solid few hours without anyone complaining they’re bored. The beach and nearby pond access seal the deal — pack a lunch, use the picnic tables, and just make a full day of it.
