Trap Pond State Park

If you’ve never been out to Trap Pond, you’re missing one of Delaware’s genuinely cool spots. The playground sits right in the campground, shaded up nicely by trees, with clean restrooms and picnic tables close by — the kind of setup where you can actually relax while the kids do their thing. Trails and a bike track wind through the area, and the pond is right there for paddling if your family wants to make a full day of it. The bald cypress swamp gives the whole place this moody, almost otherworldly feel that you don’t really expect to find in southern Delaware.
