White Clay Creek State Park

If you’re local to Newark and haven’t spent a morning at White Clay Creek, you’re genuinely missing out. The trail system here is the real draw — hikers, bikers, and runners all coexist pretty well, and the forest cover keeps things cool even on warmer days. Kids go nuts for the water feature, and honestly the creek access alone makes it worth the trip. Parking is easy, restrooms are on-site, and there’s plenty of shade and benches if you just want to sit and watch the water. It’s the kind of place you end up at every weekend without meaning to.
