Bellevue State Park

If you live anywhere near Wilmington and haven’t spent a Saturday morning at Bellevue, you’re genuinely missing out. The walking and bike paths wind through some seriously pretty wooded terrain, and the pond adds that kind of quiet backdrop that makes you forget you’re basically still in the city. Pack a lunch — the picnic and BBQ area is well-kept and actually has enough space that you’re not elbow-to-elbow with strangers. The equestrian facilities set this place apart from your average county park, and if you’re lucky you’ll catch the horses out while you’re on the trail. It works for pretty much any age group, whether you’re chasing toddlers around or just looking for a solid afternoon walk.
