If you’re into mountain biking anywhere near the Tampa area, Alafia is the one people keep coming back to. The trail system runs through real Florida forest — old oaks, natural terrain, the occasional pond view — and it’s got enough variety that beginners and seasoned riders aren’t tripping over each other. Some of the technical sections will humble you fast, but that’s kind of the point. There’s shaded seating and restrooms on site, so you can actually make a full day of it without roughing it completely. Bring the kids if they can handle a mountain bike, but don’t expect a casual stroll — this place takes the sport seriously.
