Honestly, the shade alone makes this park worth the trip — those trees actually do their job, which is rare when you’re dealing with a Florida summer afternoon. The playground gear is newer, so you’re not white-knuckling it every time your kid climbs up, and there’s enough going on between the slides, swings, and climbing structure to keep the 0-12 crowd occupied without anyone melting down. Walk the path and you’ll likely spot something near the water — herons, turtles, the usual Clearwater wildlife doing their thing. The basketball court gives older kids somewhere to go while the little ones do their thing, and the picnic tables actually sit in the shade, not baking in the sun like some parks around here.
