Payton’s Playspace at Grant-Valkaria Community Park

The forest backdrop makes this one feel different from your typical Florida park — there’s a woodsy, whimsical vibe here that actually matches the surroundings instead of fighting them. It’s clearly a community labor of love, and the upkeep shows. Kids of all ages get something out of it, with equipment scaled for the little ones too, not just the big kids hogging everything. After the playground, the walking path through the trees is worth doing, and the basketball court gives older kids and adults a reason to stick around. Grant-Valkaria doesn’t have a ton of public spaces like this, so locals treat it well — and it shows.
