If you’ve got kids with different abilities and ages, this is honestly one of the better spots in Wellington to bring the whole crew. The horse culture theme is a nice nod to the area’s equestrian roots, and the separate zones for toddlers versus older kids means nobody’s getting steamrolled on the climbing structure. It’s fully enclosed, which — if you’ve ever chased a runner through a park — you know is worth its weight in gold. Shaded seating, picnic tables, restrooms, and solid sightlines mean you can actually sit down for five minutes without losing track of anyone. The soccer field and open grass give older kids room to burn off energy, and the pond nearby makes for a pretty decent backdrop when you’re eating lunch at the pavilion.
