Dr. Ruth E. Oda Playground

A downtown Hilo park that’s seen improvements in recent years, including a security presence that’s helped with cleanliness and safety concerns that used to put families off. The equipment — slides, swings including baby swings, climbing structures — is functional if not brand new, and shaded picnic tables make it comfortable for parents. Tennis courts are close by for older kids.
