Moanalua Valley Playground

Worth knowing before you make the trip out to Moanalua Valley — the playground is currently under repair and hours are limited, so checking ahead will save you the wasted drive. When it is open, shade is basically nonexistent, which is a real problem in Hawaii where the sun hits hard pretty much all day. Bring your own canopy or water and prepare to sweat. It’s the kind of spot with potential, but right now it’s not really worth prioritizing over other Honolulu playgrounds until things get sorted out.
