If you want to get away from everything without actually going anywhere, this little spot along the E Branch delivers. The walking path follows the creek through some genuinely pretty terrain, and the open grass field gives kids room to run while adults just… breathe for a minute. You’re close enough to the forest that it feels like a trailhead, but relaxed enough that no one’s going to push you to do anything ambitious. Mackay locals know this one — it doesn’t get loud, it doesn’t get crowded, and that’s exactly the point.
