Honestly, this spot checks a lot of boxes for families around West Frankfort. The climbing structure keeps kids busy while the swings — and there are a solid number of them — mean nobody’s standing around waiting their turn. Grab one of the shaded picnic tables and you’ve got yourself a proper afternoon out, especially with the pond nearby where the geese tend to hang around if you’re lucky. The walking path and open grass give everyone room to spread out, and the whole place is genuinely kept up well, which isn’t something you can say about every park in the area.
