If you’ve got kids under 12 and just want a low-key afternoon without the chaos of a crowded park, Bahnsen fits the bill. The baseball fields are the main draw here — well-kept and actually usable, not just decoration. There’s a shaded playground area for the little ones, and the shade trees make a real difference on a hot Iowa summer day. Plenty of open grass if someone wants to throw a ball around or just run. Restrooms on site, which, honestly, matters more than people admit.
