Hess Park

The equipment here is noticeably newer than what you’ll find at most parks in McPherson — the climbing structure actually has some interesting design to it, not just the standard stuff. Kids from toddlers up through elementary age will find something worth their time, whether that’s the slides, swings, or the merry-go-round that still gets plenty of use. There’s shaded seating and picnic tables, so parents aren’t just standing around in the sun. The bike track is a nice bonus, and the whole place sits in a quiet neighborhood near a pond, which gives it a calmer feel than you’d expect. It’s well-kept, which honestly isn’t something you can say about every park around here.
