Schlanger Park

If you live in Pittsburg and haven’t made it out to Schlanger Park yet, you’re honestly missing the go-to spot for pretty much everything. The splash pad and water features keep kids busy on hot Kansas summers, and the musical equipment is one of those things adults end up messing around with just as much as the little ones. Basketball courts, a soccer field, and a solid walking path mean there’s no excuse to just sit around — though the picnic tables and BBQ area make it pretty tempting. It backs up near some trails with a pond close by, so the setting doesn’t feel like your typical city park. Bring the dog too, because there’s space for that as well.
