Shawnee Mission Park Inclusive Playground

This spot in Shawnee Mission Park is genuinely one of the better playgrounds in the KC metro for families with kids of different abilities — the ramps and smooth inclines mean nobody gets left out, which you don’t always see done this well. The musical equipment and water feature keep sensory-seeking kids busy, while the climbing structure and slides have enough variety that older kids near 10 aren’t immediately bored. Shade trees cover a good chunk of the enclosed play area, so summer visits are actually bearable. Restrooms are clean, which honestly bumps this place up a few notches on its own.
