If you haven’t taken the kids to Tickfaw on a hot Louisiana summer day, you’re missing out — that splash pad alone is worth the drive. The park sits right up against the forest with trail access and a lake nearby, so there’s plenty to do beyond just the water play. Walking paths wind through the whole place, and the shade trees actually make it bearable even in July. Restrooms and parking are solid, which matters more than people admit when you’ve got little ones in tow. Good for all ages, and if you want to make a weekend of it, the camping here is legit.
