Mt Vernon Children’s Park

Honestly, this little park punches above its weight for such a quiet corner of Mt Vernon. The splash pad keeps the under-5 crowd occupied for way longer than you’d expect, and the sandbox right alongside it means you’re basically set for a full morning. Shade trees do real work here in the summer — grab one of the benches and you’re actually comfortable while the kids do their thing. There’s a free little library on-site too, which is a nice touch, and the open grass gives older siblings something to run around on while the toddlers splash. Street parking isn’t a nightmare, which honestly makes a difference when you’re hauling all the gear.
