If you live in Brunswick and haven’t made it out to West End yet, you’re missing one of the better-kept secrets in town. The shade trees actually do their job here, so even on a hot summer afternoon you’re not melting at the picnic tables. There’s a water feature for the little ones, but honestly the real draw is the shallow creek tucked behind the playground — kids will spend hours back there without any prompting. The trailhead makes it easy to tack on a walk through the woods or loop around near the pond, so it works whether you’ve got toddlers or older kids who need to burn off energy. Grab a spot under the trees and you might not want to leave.
