Varney Playground

If you’re in North Chelmsford and haven’t checked out Varney since the renovation, it’s worth the trip. The fenced play area makes it a solid spot for toddlers while older kids have enough climbing structure and swings to actually stay busy. There’s a basketball court and soccer field right there too, so it works for the whole range — little ones through teenagers. The shade trees and covered seating mean you’re not baking on a hot July afternoon, and the lake nearby gives it a setting most playgrounds around here can’t touch. Parking’s easy, restrooms are on-site, and the walking path around the open field is a nice bonus if you want to stretch your legs while the kids run loose.
