Right on the UM-Flint campus, this spot doubles as a decent outdoor escape if you know where to look. The open grass field is solid for kicking a ball around or just stretching out between classes, and the river views from this area are genuinely one of the better-kept secrets downtown. Parking is free and actually plentiful, which — if you’ve spent any time in Flint — you know isn’t something to take for granted. It’s low-key and unpretentious, the kind of place locals cut through or linger at without making a big deal of it.
