Waterfront Park

If you live in Ludington, you already know this place — it’s right on Pere Marquette Lake and honestly hard to beat on a summer afternoon. Kids have plenty to keep them busy between the slides, swings, and tire swing, and the water feature buys parents at least another thirty minutes when everyone’s ready to leave. There’s shaded seating, picnic tables, grills, and clean restrooms, so you can actually settle in for a few hours without scrambling. The walking path and open grass give older kids room to roam while toddlers do their thing in the separate play areas. Bonus: you can watch the SS Badger ferry come and go, which somehow never gets old.
