Cook Playground

If you live on this side of Midland, Cook Playground is probably already your go-to spot. The shade trees here are the real selling point — they actually cover most of the play area, so even a hot July afternoon is manageable. Kids aged 2 to 14 have plenty to keep them busy between the climbing structure, basketball court, and a big open grass field that works well for soccer or just running around. There’s a wooded area right along the edge of the park where older kids tend to disappear for a while, which parents seem pretty happy about. Restrooms, picnic tables, and parking make it easy to settle in for a few hours without scrambling for anything.
