Sam & Lindsey Porter Memorial Playground

A solid little spot in Independence that doesn’t get enough credit. The paved walking path makes it genuinely easy to navigate — strollers, toddlers learning to walk, all of it works here without the usual grass-and-mud headaches. Being in an urban setting means you’re never far from somewhere to grab food after, which is a nice bonus when you’ve got hungry kids. It’s a memorial space, so there’s a bit of a quieter, more intentional feel to it than your typical neighborhood playground.
