A Carousel for Missoula

Hand-carved by volunteers over years of community effort, this carousel is genuinely one of the coolest things Missoula has going for it. The horses and animals are works of art up close — you can tell real craftsmanship went into every piece. It runs fast enough that kids actually get a kick out of it, and the brass ring game gives everyone something to compete over. Tickets are cheap, the staff are genuinely friendly (not just going-through-the-motions friendly), and locals bring their kids back year after year out of pure tradition. Restrooms on site, so no scrambling around downtown mid-visit.
