North Platte Area Children’s Museum

If you’re driving through North Platte on I-80, this place is genuinely worth the exit. The themed rooms are a hit with the under-10 crowd — there’s a doctor’s office, a pirate ship, and a transportation area with a slide that keeps the little ones looping back for more. The play train is a favorite, and when kids need to burn off some extra steam, there’s a basketball court and soccer net to keep things moving. It works well for locals too, especially when Nebraska weather makes outdoor play a non-starter. Good range of activities for ages 1 through 9, so siblings with a decent age gap can usually both find something to do.
