It’s a solid staging area for off-roading — plenty of parking to unload your rigs and head out into the landscape without a lot of hassle. The views of Lava Butte itself are genuinely cool, the kind of rugged scenery that reminds you why people move to Nevada in the first place. Families show up to walk the path and poke around the terrain even if they’re not riding anything motorized. It’s not fancy, but that’s kind of the point.
