Holmdel Park

If you live in Monmouth County and haven’t made Holmdel Park a regular stop, you’re missing out. There are two separate playgrounds here — both well-kept, padded underfoot, and loaded with slides, swings, climbing structures, and even some musical equipment the little ones go nuts for. The real draw, though, is everything else: miles of trails winding near the woods and a pond, open fields, and Longstreet Farm, where kids can actually see farm animals up close. Shade trees and covered seating make it manageable on hot days, and the restrooms and picnic areas are consistently clean, which honestly isn’t something you can say about every county park. Plan for at least half a day — there’s genuinely enough here to fill one.
