Wildwood’s got enough going on between the boardwalk and the beach that the kids rarely run out of things to do. The stretch of free beach here is massive — seriously, some of the widest on the Jersey Shore — so there’s plenty of room to dig, run, and wear themselves out before dinner. It’s not a dedicated playground situation so much as a whole town built around having a good time outdoors. Come summer, the energy on the boards keeps older kids happy while the little ones can splash around at the water’s edge. Locals know to hit the beach early before the crowds roll in from north Jersey.
