Russell Joy Park Playground

If you live in Fredonia and haven’t spent a Saturday afternoon here, you’re missing out. The playground sits right up against the woods, so there’s actual shade and that cool forest air, which makes a big difference in the summer. Picnic tables are scattered around, the restrooms are kept up better than you’d expect, and the open grass field gives kids room to actually run. The walking trails through the trees are a nice bonus — short enough for little ones, but worth doing. Tennis courts, a clean play area, good layout — this park just works.
