Montauk State Park Playground

If you’re spending the day at Montauk and need a break from the sand, this playground is the obvious stop. The equipment got a solid refurb not too long ago, so the slides and swings are actually in good shape — which, if you’ve been to enough beach-town playgrounds, you know isn’t a given. There’s a sandbox for the little ones, shaded seating so you’re not melting while you watch them play, and BBQ tables that make it easy to turn the whole thing into a proper afternoon out. The walking path connects you right to the trails, and on a clear day you’ve got lighthouse views that honestly make the whole visit feel a bit more special than your average park stop. Parking is easy, bathrooms are kept up — it’s just a well-run spot.
