Crowder County Park

If you live anywhere near Apex, this park should already be in your regular rotation. The playground has some genuinely big slides that older kids actually get excited about, plus musical equipment that the little ones obsess over — and there’s a separate toddler structure so everyone’s got their spot. Shade trees and covered picnic tables make it easy to stay a while without melting in the summer heat. The trail network is the real draw though — paved and unpaved options wind through forest and past a pond where you’ll spot turtles and ducks if you’re paying attention. Parking is easy, restrooms are on-site, and the open grass field gives kids room to just run.
