If you haven’t made it out to Darnell Farms on a weekend morning yet, you’re missing one of the best things about living near Bryson City. The kids can hit the swings and seesaw while you browse the farmers market — genuinely good local produce, not the watered-down stuff — and there’s usually live music going that makes the whole place feel like an actual event rather than just a grocery run. The open grass field gives little ones room to run, and the pond nearby is a nice touch when you want a breather from the crowd. Picnic tables, benches, parking that doesn’t make you want to give up — it’s all here, and it works for every age in the family.
