Oak Hollow Park Playground

If you live in High Point and haven’t taken the kids out to Oak Hollow, you’re missing out on one of the more relaxed afternoons this city has to offer. The playground covers the basics well — slides, swings, a climbing structure — and it handles the 3-to-11 crowd without feeling like it’s only built for one age group. What really makes it worth the trip is the lake sitting right there in the background, which gives the whole place a calmer feel than your average neighborhood park. Grab one of the picnic tables under the shaded seating and you’ve got a solid setup for a family lunch without fighting the sun. Locals come out here for birthday gatherings pretty regularly, and honestly, it’s easy to see why.
