N.E.C Playground

Honestly, N.E.C. is one of the better spots in Jacksonville for kids in that 3-to-10 range — the climbing structure alone keeps mine busy for a solid hour. There’s a good mix of slides and swings, and whoever maintains this place actually shows up, because it’s consistently in solid shape. The shade trees and covered seating make a real difference on hot Carolina afternoons — you’re not just standing in the sun watching the clock. Bring the kids in summer and take advantage of the splash pad; it gets busy for a reason.
