Meekins Field Park

If you live in Kill Devil Hills and haven’t made it to Meekins Field yet, fix that. The splash pad and water feature are a lifesaver in the summer heat — little kids basically refuse to leave. There’s a solid rope climbing structure that the older kids gravitate toward, and the whole place feels genuinely new and well-kept, which isn’t always a given around here. Shaded seating, clean restrooms, covered picnic areas, and easy parking make it one of those spots where you can actually settle in for a few hours without losing your mind. Throw in the soccer fields and you’ve got something for pretty much every age, 2 through 12.
