Blue Jay Point County Park

One of the better family spots in the Raleigh area, this county park punches well above its weight — the playground alone is worth the trip, with a solid climbing structure, multiple slides, and a zipline that always has a line of kids waiting their turn. Trails wind out from the picnic areas toward the lake, so you can wear everyone out two different ways. Shade trees and covered seating make it actually tolerable in the summer heat, and the restrooms are consistently clean, which matters more than people admit. Honestly, plan for a full day here.
