If you’re anywhere near Chilo and haven’t stopped here yet, you’re missing out. The playground is genuinely inclusive and works well for kids from toddlers up through about 12, and the open grass field gives them plenty of room to just run around after. What makes this spot stand out is the setting — you’ve got the Ohio River right there, walking paths that edge into the woods, and enough shade and picnic tables to make a full afternoon of it without anyone melting in the heat. Bring your own charcoal because the BBQ area is solid, and the restrooms are actually kept up, which matters more than people admit. There’s also a small museum element tied to the old lock history that adults tend to find more interesting than they expect.
