Honestly, this one has a bit of a reputation among local parents, and not in a good way. The MetroPark setting along the river is genuinely pretty, but the playground itself tends to disappoint people who make the trip out specifically for it. Worth knowing before you load up the car with kids expecting a big outing. If you’re already visiting Island MetroPark for a walk or the scenery, sure, let the kids burn some energy — just don’t build it up too much.
