If you’re heading up to Washington Park anyway for the trails, the playground makes it an easy full-day stop with kids in tow. The shade here is genuinely good — big trees keep things cool even on warmer Portland days, which matters when your toddler insists on one more trip down the slide. There’s a sandbox and water feature that younger ones will absolutely destroy their clothes in, plus picnic tables if you actually want to sit down and eat something. Worth knowing: parking is paid, so bring a card or plan ahead. Solid range for ages one through ten without feeling like it’s trying too hard in either direction.
