If you’re anywhere near Howard, this park punches well above its weight for a small-town spot. Kids have a solid climbing structure and a water feature to mess around with, while the bike track and basketball court give older ones something to actually do. The shade trees make the picnic areas genuinely usable on hot days — not just a table baking in the sun — and the restrooms are kept up better than you’d expect. The walking path edges close enough to the forest that it feels like a real trail, not just a lap around a parking lot. Locals bring the whole family out here and it handles every age group without feeling like it’s trying too hard.
