Hickory Run Playground

If you’re camping nearby or just passing through Jim Thorpe, this little playground is worth a stop. It’s nothing fancy — slides, swings, a water feature — but the setting does a lot of the work, with trail access close by and a pond practically in the backyard. Younger kids, especially the 2–5 crowd, tend to love it here because the scale feels right for them and there’s open grass to burn off energy between turns on the equipment. Pack a lunch, because the picnic tables get used for a reason. Restrooms on-site make it a realistic half-day outing rather than a quick run-by.
