Close to some of Scranton’s best history — McDade Park and the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour are basically right there — this spot makes for a solid half-day if you’re already doing the touristy loop. It’s the kind of place where kids can burn off energy while parents actually enjoy the surroundings for once. The scenic backdrop gives it a different feel than your average city playground. Good option for families passing through the area who want something low-key between stops.
