The castle setup here has seen better days — it’s mid-reconstruction right now — but honestly the slides and the varying elevations still make it worth the trip, especially for kids in that 2-12 range who want something with a little more going on than a flat lot with swings. What really sets this one apart is the direct trail access into the woods, with routes at different difficulty levels that open up to some genuinely good views. Pack snacks, hit the playground first, then take the older kids out on the trails while the little ones nap in the stroller. Parking’s easy, which Scranton playgrounds don’t always get right.
