If you want a lake day that doesn’t feel like a total hassle, this is your spot. The water is genuinely clean — not in a “I guess it’s fine” way, but in a you’ll-actually-want-to-get-in way. Families come out here pretty regularly, and it shows in how well the place is kept up. The scenery along Lake Russell does a lot of the heavy lifting too, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits the water just right. Worth the drive out to Calhoun Falls, no question.
