Playground – AKA ‘Red park’

Everyone around East Nashville calls it the Red Park, and honestly it earns the name — the equipment has that classic red color you can spot from across the field. Kids 2 to 12 have plenty to keep them busy between the slides and swings, and there’s enough open grass that they can just run until they wear themselves out. The soccer field and bike track mean older kids aren’t stuck waiting for a turn on the playground either. Pack a lunch because the picnic tables with shade trees make it easy to actually stay a while, and the pond nearby gives it a calm, outdoorsy feel that most city parks can’t pull off. Restrooms on site, walking path for the adults — it’s the kind of place locals keep coming back to on weekends.
