F.J. “Red” Kane Park

Most Arlington locals don’t even know this place exists, which honestly makes it better for those of us who do. There are two separate play areas — one built for the little ones and another for older kids — so nobody’s getting knocked over by a ten-year-old on the swings. The pond draws ducks, turtles, and the occasional fishing rod, and the walking and bike trails loop around it nicely. Peacocks wander the grounds like they own the place, which they kind of do at this point. Grab a picnic table, let the kids burn some energy on the soccer field or basketball court, and you’ve got yourself a genuinely solid afternoon with zero crowds.
