If you want to escape the Dallas grind without actually leaving the city, this lake delivers. The loop around the water is a solid spot for a run or a walk, and honestly the sunset views here are some of the best you’ll find inside the city limits — people don’t talk about that enough. Watch the rowers out on the water while you catch your breath and it almost feels like you’re somewhere far away. It’s low-key, it’s local, and it doesn’t try too hard.
