Anniversary Park Playground

Locals know Anniversary Park is one of the better spots in Waco to actually spend an afternoon without feeling rushed. The playground has the basics done right — slides, swings, and a solid climbing structure that keeps kids in the 2-to-12 range busy long enough for you to sit at a picnic table and breathe. Shade trees do real work here in the Texas heat, and the layout makes it easy to keep an eye on the little ones without hovering. There’s a walking path and open grass field if you need to burn off extra energy, and the pond nearby gives the whole place a calmer feel than you’d expect for an urban park. Restrooms and parking on-site, which honestly makes or breaks a playground visit.
