Honestly, save yourself the trip. Phillips Creek Day Use Area sits along the water near Pound, but the lake access isn’t worth much when the ground is covered in goose droppings and the smell hits you before you even get out of the car. Trash and debris scattered around make it feel more abandoned than maintained, and the water quality is questionable enough that you wouldn’t want your kids anywhere near it. It’s a shame, because the setting could be decent — it’s just clearly not getting the attention it needs from whoever’s supposed to be managing it.
